Bodegas y Viñedos Casa del Valle
In early March we took a quick trip south to Yepes in Castile–La Mancha, in the Toledo province. Although Toledo, once the capital of Spain, doesn’t have its own D.O., it does produce some excellent wines, including those from the Bodegas y Viñedos Casa del Valle, which produce a Vinos de Pago from grapes grown in the 82 hectares of new vineyards surrounding the bodega.
The Finca Valdelequa estate is situated east of Toledo in the Tagus Valley. It’s also only a few minutes drive northwest of the small historic village of Yepes, which sits on on the western part of a small plateau known as “Toledillo”, where the three cultures; Arabs, Christians and Jews, lived during medieval times.

Wine Tourism
Tours are available by reservation only at both of their wineries, at the Finca on Saturdays and Sundays and at Bodegas Olarra in Logroño, La Rioja, on Saturdays through 22 June. And of course the Finca does weddings. Bodegas Olarra is known as the Great Cathedral of Rioja
